Will You Be My Rainbow? - 13 Stripe - Self Striping Yarn

$ 30.00

Choose your base -- Descriptions are listed below :)

Sample is knit in the Kismet base.

New "Doublet" Option -- These are two 50 gram skeins that match! I say "match" lightly.  They may not be exact starting and ending points, but they are close so the least amount of yarn is wasted for those that like identical socks. I'm human after all =P

I wanted to do something different this year. Something fun and a bit challenging for myself.  So I came up with a Rainbow Holiday idea.  For the holidays I'm choosing (its a secret...heehee) I'll dye up a color way that has some sort of rainbowesque rainbow but also a bit of stripe sequence that represents the holiday.

Rainbows mean different things to each individual, or they can mean multiple things too.  For me, and why I chose to use Rainbows in these color ways is because they remind me of my mom.  She passed away in a car accident on 11/01/2007 and I miss her terribly each and every day.  On the day we buried her it was a rainy crummy day.  However, when we were leaving the cemetery the sun peeked out from behind the clouds and a rainbow appeared.  As I cried, I also smiled.  I knew she was ok and she wanted me to be ok too.  So every time I see a rainbow its a reminder that even in our worst times, everything will be ok.

The first up is of course, Valentine's Day.  I know. I know.  Not everybody likes Valentine's Day, BUT we all love pretty yarn, right?  And it really only has to be Valentine's yarn if you want it to be :) You do you!

This listing is for a beautiful skein of self striping yarn in a fingering weight. It is hand dyed by me with professional acid dyes. I use citric acid and each skein is steamed or heat set to set the dye and also washed in cool/cold water with Eucalan (unscented). I do my absolute best to ensure there is no additional dye run off, however depending on how you care for your yarn and knitted things, results can vary.

All self stripping yarns are dyed in sets, so there “may” be a slight variation between batches . I take all measures to avoid differences but after all, I am human, and science isn’t always perfect :) Also, different bases may take color differently and containers of the actual dye can vary from container to container.

Washing:
Hand wash in cool water with wool wash. I use Eucalan (Unscented) but just make sure its made for wool for lasting knits.

Superwash is made to be able to wash in a washing machine and dried in a dryer. However for best results, I recommend hand washing, or at least laying flat to dry. This preserve the life of the yarn.

Allergies:
Please know that I do have cats and dogs in my home. They are not around the things I sell however I cannot guarantee that there won’t be a hair found in the item from just being on my person. Or for that matter one of my own hairs.. LOL. So if you are highly allergic to either cats or dogs, please take caution.

I do my best to represent the yarn in photos. All photos are taken in natural light, however all monitors vary in color. If you absolutely dislike the skein you receive, please contact me for a resolution prior to caking the yarn.

Do you have questions or did I miss something? Please send me a message and I'll happily reply as soon as I can (usually the same day)!

Happy Knitting!!
