Hello Friends!!! Welcome to the PRE-ORDER of my 2026 Advent Skein. This is my sixth year doing an Advent skein and it has been so much fun! If this is your first year, welcome!!! If this is a returning year for you, welcome back!! I appreciate each and every one of you!
If you've received my Advent skeins the last few years, you may have noticed that the sequence is a repeat of a dark stripe, then a lighter stripe, through each color. This year's Advent will fall into that same line of dark/light for each stripe. This color way will also NOT scream Christmas. It will definitely be a more happy, all year round sort of color way.
The striping has changed a little bit this year. Each stripe for each base will be just a touch shorter than the 2025 Advent.
There will be two skein options this year:
- One full skein of the self striping yarn. This will be approximately 104 grams. The fingering weight bases will have 4 repeats, and the DK will have 2. Please note, the DK version will be slightly under 100 grams (price reflects this).
- Two half skeins of the self striping that will match. Each half skein will be approximately 52 grams each. The fingering weight bases will come with 2 repeats per half skein, and the DK version will have one repeat per half skein. Please note, the DK version will be slightly under 50 grams per half skein (price reflects this).
The mini skeins (25 gram or 50 gram) will be available. This will be an UNDYED mini. They will be washed and prepped and ready to be knit. There is not an undyed stripe in the Advent Color way but, after much deliberation, I think an undyed mini skein will let the color way shine the best!
Serendipity (Fingering - 4 ply) 75% SW Merino, 25% Nylon | 460 yards / 100g - (25 g mini is 115 yards)
Splendid (Fingering - 4 ply) 85% SW Merino, 15% Nylon | 437 yards / 100g (25 g mini is 109 yards)
**Glimmer (Fingering - 4 ply) 75% SW Merino, 15% Nylon, 10% Stellina | 437 yards / 100g (25 g mini is 109 yards) **NEW**
Serendipity DK (DK - 4 ply) 75% SW Merino, 25% Nylon | 245 yards / 100g (25 g mini is 61 yards)
Shipping will be from Illinois (USA) and will begin in mid-October (perhaps September) starting with my international orders. Once all international orders are out the door, all US orders will begin to ship.
