Hello Friends!!

Do you have skeins of yarn that you'd like to have knit up so you can finish them into socks?

Do you have some gift knitting that you need to get done but don't have time to knit the entire sock??

This service is perfect for you then!! You send me yarn you have in your stash, and I will crank it into tubes with my Circular Sock Machine and send them back to you to finish into socks!

OPTIONS:

Choose "One Long Tube" If you only want the yarn to be cranked into one tube. If you only want a certain amount of grams cranked, just let me know and the rest will be sent back to you!

Choose "Separated tubes" if you want two separate tubes.  For this option, I will weigh the yarn, subtract any amounts you want left unranked (if any), and divide the rest in half.  From there I will crank two physically separate tubes of equally cranked rows. (The exception here is self striping that you want matched. Sometimes due to striping sequence, one tube will be longer than the other)

EXCEPTION: If you send 2 balls of 50 gram Felici yarn (or the like), that counts as one skein (total 100 grams). If you want them cranked into physically separated tubes, please choose the separated tube option.  I can also do "one long tube" cranked as such --> waste yarn, 1st 50 gram ball, 20-ish rows waste yarn, 2nd 50 gram ball, waste yarn <--.  So in the end the two balls are separate but in one long tube.   In this option, they will be cranked as is, no matching. :)

What I can do:

* FINGERING weight yarn only. Please don't send lace, sport, worsted or Aran. Please also don't send singles.  Due to the inconsistencies in yarn, this yarn is not the best for cranking. If any other weight is sent, I will not crank those skeins and will return them to you with a refund for the cranking service. The cylinders I have really aren't meant for thicker yarns. To get the gauge people want for socks, they are incredibly stiff or really wide, so I've decided to not allow them anymore.

* I have a 64 stitch cylinder and a 72 stitch cylinder. This is the # of "cast on stitches". I can't do more or less than those options.

* I ask for your gauge, so you can choose based on what you already knit with, or whatever is closest to it. Not sure? That's ok.  Just let me know what you typically cast on (the number of stitches) and what your gauge is, meaning how many stitches you get per inch in your knitting. I will do my very best to get as close to that as I can. If you're still not sure, measure the cuff of a sock you've knit already and give me that dimension.

Note: I measure BEFORE washing/blocking for the below results.

* For fingering weight yarn that is 80/20 or 75/25 using 64 stitches, the smallest circumference I can obtain is 9 stitches per inch which calculates to be a 7.11" circumference sock.

For the same type of yarns using 72 stitches the smallest circumference I can obtain is also 9 stitches per inch for an 8" circumference.

9 stitches per inch is the highest number of stitches I can get using either 64 or 72.

This will depend on the sock yarn, but I've found that this is typical on most fingering weight yarns.

If this sounds like something you'd want to try, you would purchase this listing for the number of skeins you would like knit up and complete check out.  Soon after you checkout you will get an email at the email address you've provided. This will provide you with my address to mail the yarn to and ask questions on how you want it cranked.

Then all you have to do is mail the yarn to me.  I will be sure to have it back in the mail approximately by the 14th business day (Monday - Friday) after receipt.  If this falls on a Sunday or a mail holiday, it will be mailed the next available mailing day. This timeframe may increase during busy times, especially when there is a sale or promotion

Want to buy yarn directly from a shop (or my shop!!) and save on shipping it to me to knit up for you?  No problem!! Purchase this listing for the number of skeins you are buying and leave a note stating you are purchasing directly from a shop.  I will then email you with my address.  Just have the yarn sent to me.  Everything else will be the same.

Included in this purchase is my Guide For Separating a Knit Tube For Socks!!
